Meet Dr. Paul G. Ruff IV

Dr. Ruff is the founder of West End Plastic Surgery and has over 28 years of experience in the medical field. He was first exposed to patient care during his studies at Georgetown University. Deciding to become a surgeon, he went on to receive his MD at Eastern Virginia Medical School and performed his general surgery residency and surgical critical care residency at Washington Hospital Center and his plastic surgery residency at the University of California, San Diego Medical Center. Since then, Dr. Ruff returned to the area where he grew up and opened West End Plastic Surgery, establishing his reputation as one of the top plastic surgeons in Washington, D.C..
Meet Dr. Lexie Wang
Facial Plastic Surgeon
Dr. Lexie Wang is a Facial Plastic and Reconstructive surgeon specializing in cosmetic and reconstructive procedures in the face and neck region. Lexie Wang, MD, is one of the two American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS) fellows to Paul Nassif, MD (star of E!’s “Botched” and creator NassifMD®).
Born and raised in nearby Fairfax, Virginia, Dr. Wang attended Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology where her passion for medicine developed. She went on to complete her undergraduate education at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in three years, graduating with cum laude honors. After spending a year working in the UCSD Department of Psychiatry, where she studied the physiology of circadian rhythms, she returned to Virginia to attend the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
Following medical school, Dr. Wang entered a highly competitive 5-year Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery residency at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. During this time, she was able to develop an expertise in the complex and intricate anatomy of the head and neck region. In her final year of residency, she served as Chief Resident in her department.
After residency, Dr. Wang became one of two surgeons accepted to train at the highly prestigious American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery accredited fellowship in Beverly Hills, California, with world-renowned surgeons Dr. Paul Nassif (star of E!’s “Botched” and creator NassifMD®), Dr. Babak Azizzadeh (founder of the Facial Paralysis Institute and the Center for Advanced Facial Plastic Surgery), and Dr. Grace Lee Peng. During her tenure, Dr. Wang treated patients from all over the world, learning the nuances of challenging primary and revision facial aesthetic surgery. While there, she also had the privilege to train with other world leaders in the aesthetic medicine and surgery field, including Dr. Guy Massry, Dr. Benjamin Talei, and Dr. Rebecca Fitzgerald. This is where she added a multitude of facial cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries and treatments to her scope of practice.

Meet Dr. Catherine Hannan
Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon
After earning her undergraduate degree at Yale University, Dr. Catherine Hannan completed her medical degree at Georgetown University Hospital and her plastic surgery residency at the Medstar Georgetown University Hospital program. She has been working at the VA Hospital since 2011 and in 2014 became Chief of the Plastic Surgery division.
She is board certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery. As an assistant professor in plastic surgery with Georgetown School of Medicine, she is involved in both medical student and resident education and is particularly interested in the mentorship of young women aspiring to a career in surgery.
Dr. Hannan’s practice focuses on general cosmetic and aesthetic surgery as well as non-invasive techniques. She also is passionate about reconstructive surgery after breast and skin cancer, wound care, and limb preservation.
Dr. Hannan lives in Northwest DC with her husband, two young sons, and a rescue Labrador Retriever. In her spare time, she sings in her church choir and volunteers with her son’s school and exercises.

Amanda is the patient care coordinator for Dr. Catherine Hannan & Dr. Lauren Patrick at West End Plastic Surgery. She serves as the liaison between the patient and their physician and is here to address any surgery-related or procedural questions you may have. Her goal is to keep our patients well-informed and ensure they have the best possible experience from start to finish.
Amanda has always dreamed about working in cosmetic & plastic surgery. With over 10 years of patient care experience within the medical field, she has proven herself to be a knowledgeable and reliable resource for patients. She communicates everything that the patient needs to know in order to make an informed decision and to prepare for their upcoming procedures.
Amanda is dedicated to helping our patients achieve their aesthetic goals while being a warm and caring patient advocate. She will be with you through every step of the surgical process and will make sure you’re given the highest quality of care.
