If you have healthy, thick hair in some sections, you may be a good candidate for a NeoGraft transplant. This process involves moving follicles from healthy areas to thinner areas. So, it won’t have ideal results for someone with thin hair all over. You’ll need to have healthy, full areas to transplant into thin, problematic areas for best results.
The cause of your hair loss doesn’t necessarily disqualify you as a NeoGraft candidate. You can still get a NeoGraft if you have:
- Hair loss because of scars from prior surgery
- Androgenetic alopecia (also known as male-pattern baldness)
- Traction alopecia
- Hair loss from trauma
- Patches of thinning hair or bald spots
As long as you have healthy follicles to transplant, Neograft may be a good option for you. Typically, we source follicles from the sides and back of your head.
The NeoGraft Hair-Transplantation Procedure
NeoGraft is a semi-automated system that uses follicular unit excision (FUE). The automation of the process makes mistakes less likely. NeoGraft is a procedure that is less invasive and faster than other hair transplant techniques. This may be why it tends to have a quicker recovery period and more successful results.
